Mac Whitney installs sculptures in Midtown Houston

June 5th, 2012:  Sculptor Mac Whitney will install two new sculptures at the Gallery Sonja Roesch, located in Midtown Houston. Mac Whitney, born 1936 in Kansas, currently lives and works in Ovilla, TX. In 1979, Mac Whitney was awarded a commission by the City of Houston to build a large-scale sculpture funded by grants by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Department of Urban Development. The sculpture is located in Stude Park and can be seen from the I-10 heading West. His work has been shown continuously over the last 40 years, both nationally and internationally, and is part of many public collections such as the Dallas Museum of Art and The Nave Museum.
